Memorial & Endowment

 

The Memorial and Endowment Committee is responsible for the encouragement of memorial and endowment gifts to Orchard Park Presbyterian Church. The committee supervises the investment and administration of such gifts and recommends to the Session potential uses for the gifts that are not specifically designated.

For example, Crossways is an endowment of OPPC given by Dr. and Mrs. Earl B. Herr Jr., Ph.D. The Crossways Endowment, established in 2002, has the following objective:

To assist in the further education and ministry of young people of OPPC and the OPPC community. There are many challenges facing young people in today’s environment. It is expected that the interest from the endowment will be used to assist young individuals to address these challenges. This money could be used for, but not limited, to financing seminars, meetings, guest lecturers or any other means to meet the overall goals. It is realized that the content of the programs may vary from year to year depending on the needs of the youth, but the main thrust will always remain as the development of the individual’s value system.
