Indy Fiber Arts

Indy Fiber Arts is a group of seven fiber artists from central Indiana who come from diverse artistic backgrounds including quilting, art education, garment construction and design, beading, mixed media and computer graphics. They meet regularly for the purpose of expanding their artistic visions, originality and knowledge of media. Beginning in 2009, they studied a single book together, doing the art exercises and learning the skill of critique. Currently, they are each developing a body of work through practice, using the elements and principles of good design and through discussion of compositions and techniques. Their goals include artistic growth, more accomplished employment of techniques, and the discovery of internal resources both as individuals and as a group. Part of that journey is to share what they have made with others by exhibiting their works together. Members of the group are: Carol Marlin, Laura Otten, Mary Anne Loehr, Mezzie Ash, Von Biggs and Judy Ireland.
